Heat's Dwyane Wade: Rejoins Heat on one-year deal
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wade announced Sunday via a post on his personal Twitter account that he would re-sign with the Heat on a one-year contract for what will likely be his final NBA season.

Wade's playing career has been in limbo all summer, with the future Hall of Famer entertaining offers from the Heat and the Chinese Basketball Association to potentially delay retirement. Ultimately, the 36-year-old elected to return to the place he's called home for most of his time in the NBA, with Wade set to rejoin the Heat on a minimum deal. While splitting time with the Cavaliers and Heat last season, Wade averaged 11.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 22.3 minutes per game. It's likely he'll be ticketed for a second-unit role during the upcoming campaign and could see his playing time take a further hit.

Dwyane Wade: Future remains uncertain
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wade has yet to make a decision on his status for the 2018-19 season, Sam Amico of AmicoHoops.net reports. "I wish I had an answer for you. I don't have it today," Wade said. "... A lot goes into it. We've kind of talked about it over the course of my career. So you guys can play the tape back and hear the same answers over and over again. But a lot goes into it."

With NBA training camps opening later this month, there's a decent chance a final decision is made by Wade in the coming few weeks. Fellow veteran, and long-time friend Udonis Haslem, recently re-signed with the Heat and is apparently encouraging Wade to return for one more year. Still, it will ultimately be up to Wade, so look for another update to be released once he's made his choice. It's already been reported previously that Miami is the only organization he'd consider playing for during the upcoming campaign.

Dwyane Wade: Won't play in China
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wade has ruled out playing in China this season, Real GM reports. "If I play the game of basketball this year it will be in a Miami uniform," Wade said. "If I don't, I'll be living in Miami or somewhere else probably."

Wade is apparently content to take his time in figuring out his next step, but he indicated that his agent i in talks with the Heat regarding a potential return next season. If that were to happen, the veteran would likely sign a one-year contract at a discounted rate. Wade, who turns 37 in January, is just two years removed from averaging 18.3 points per game for the Bulls, but his production tailed off considerably last season, which he split between Cleveland and Miami. Wade still managed 12.0 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 21 games for Miami, though he shot just 40.9 percent from the field and a ghastly 22.0 percent from three on 2.0 attempts per game.

Heat's Dwyane Wade: Undecided on future
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wade said Sunday that he has yet to decide if he wants to continue playing during the 2018-19 season, Chris Mannix of Yahoo Sports reports.

Wade, who will become a free agent in July, said that if he does return for a 16th NBA season, he would like to return to Miami, where he finished the 2017-18 campaign following a February trade from Cleveland. While suiting up for 67 games between the two teams, Wade made only three starts and averaged 11.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 22.9 minutes per contests, all of which were the lowest or second-lowest marks of his career. If he elects to keep playing during the upcoming season with the Heat or another franchise, the 36-year-old would almost certainly have to settle for a full-time bench role, with his playing time potentially plunging even further.

Heat's Dwyane Wade: Scores 11 points in possible curtain-call
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wade tallied 11 points (4-15 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five rebounds, five assists and one steal in 30 minutes during Tuesday's 104-91 loss to the 76ers.

Wade returning to Miami was one of the feel-good stories to come out of the season but sadly it ended with a loss on Tuesday. Wade has made solid contributions to the team since arriving mid-season and could probably go around for another season if he so chooses. That choice, however, remains clouded in mystery at this point and could be for some time yet. He is a first-ballot Hall of Famer and whether he plays on or not, his legacy in Miami is second to none.
