Lakers' Andrew Bogut: Signs with Lakers
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bogut (lower leg) has agreed to sign a one-year deal with the Lakers worth the veteran minimum, Shams Charania of The Vertical reports.

Bogut is still trying to shake off the fractured tibia he suffered in March -- which occurred only four days after signing with the Cavaliers -- but he's trending in the right direction for being fully available by the opening of training camp. Even at 32 years old, Bogut is still a valuable rim protector and he might be able to carve out a recurring role in the Lakers' rotation despite the fact that Brook Lopez and Ivica Zubac are better all-around options for coach Luke Walton.

Andrew Bogut: Planning on playing this season
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bogut (lower leg) will get a final bone scan Tuesday and expects to be cleared for a full return with intent to sign with a team as early as next week, Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe reports.

While the scan has yet to be performed, all signs are pointing to Bogut being cleared and being on a roster sooner than later. Prior to fracturing his left tibia less than a minute into his Cavaliers debut last season, Bogut played 26 games with the Mavericks, posting 3.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.0 block across 22.4 minutes per game.

Andrew Bogut: Nearing return to full basketball activity
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bogut (lower leg) is close to a return to full basketball activity, Marc Stein of ESPN.com reports.

After joining the Cavaliers near the end of the 2016-17 campaign with the hope contributing to a potential title run, Bogut ended up fracturing his left tibia in less than a minute during his team debut, which kept him out for the rest of the season. Prior to joining the Cavaliers, he had spent 26 games with the Mavericks, averaging 3.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.0 block across 22.4 minutes. He's been going through a heavy dose of rehab since March and has already been cleared for both running and jumping exercises, so it appears he's nearing a return to full strength. The expectation is that he'll be ready for training camp and he should field plenty of interest from teams that are looking for a veteran rim protecting presence who also performs well on the boards. That said, Bogut is going into his 13th NBA season, so he could have his workload scaled back with whichever team he signs with.

Andrew Bogut: Waived by Cleveland
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bogut (lower leg) was waived by the Cavaliers on Monday, Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com reports.

Bogut has already been ruled out for the rest of the season after fracturing his left tibia in his team debut last week, and the Cavaliers had little reason to keep him around since he was set to become an unrestricted free agent in the offseason. In order to fill Bogut's spot on the roster, the Cavaliers will sign Larry Sanders for the rest of the season, with the hope that Sanders can offer some rim protection on the second unit. Bogut will head back to his native Australia to kick off the rehab process from the broken leg, but is expected to be back to full strength before training camps open next season.

Cavaliers' Andrew Bogut: Expected to be waived
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bogut (lower leg) is expected to be waived by the Cavaliers to open up a roster spot, Dave McMenamin of ESPN reports.

With Bogut done for the year, the Cavaliers will look to use the open roster spot to sign another player after their upcoming three-game road trip, while Bogut is expected to spend his time rehabbing in Australia with his family. The big man is expected to make a full recovery by training camp of next season, so it's likely, as a restricted free agent, he'll be on the lookout for a new destination for his 2017-18 campaign.
