Andre Johnson: 'I just need to go to an island' during Texans' bye
Eagles CB Cary Williams says Texans WR Andre Johnson 'is not the same guy.'

Andre Johnson was skeptical enough of the Texans this offseason that he wondered if, at 33, he would be better off playing for a more established team. He eventually reported to training camp and midway through the season the Texans are 4-5 and a long shot to make a playoff run.
Johnson has 48 receptions for 563 yards and a touchdown this season, but his 11.7 yards per catch is the second worst mark of his 12-year career. Catching passes from journeyman quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick certainly has something to do with that, and it helps explain why Eagles cornerback Cary Williams, who faced Johnson Sunday, said the wideout "is not the same guy."
"I don't know if he's happy," Williams said during an appearance with Sports Radio 610. "I'm not sure. I know he had some disputes before the season in a couple years now. But I know Andre Johnson. I know what he's done over his career. Just the attitude. It just wasn't the same."
When Johnson was asked about Williams' assessment, he offered this: “I’m trying to help the team win,” he said, via the Houston Chronicle. “But I only can do what I can do. I can’t control everything. I only can control what I can. That’s it. I can’t block. I can’t cover guys. I can’t throw the ball. All I can do is run routes and try to get open and catch the ball.”
The Texans are on their bye week and coach Bill O'Brien said he would evaluate the quarterback position. Whether that means Ryan Mallett finally gets a shot is another matter. (We've written before that Houston has nothing to lose by turning to Mallett, whom they traded for just before the regular season. He's in the final year of his rookie deal and no one knows if he's a capable NFL starter. Everyone knows that Fitzpatrick isn't.)
For now, Johnson has one goal: 'Get far away from here." Where might he go? “I just need to go to an island or something,” he said.
