The Bills were hoping to get DE Mark Anderson back for their Week 10 clash against the New England Patriots. Instead, it looks like he’s going to be out Sunday and miss several more games as well.
Coach Chan Gailey said Monday that Anderson suffered a setback in his recovery from a knee injury. Anderson suffered the injury in Buffalo’s Week 5 blowout loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
“He’s had a pretty good setback, he may need another procedure before it’s over with,” Gailey said. “They tell me if they end up doing it would be a very minor, 2-3 week deal and he would be able to get back."
Anderson was one of Buffalo’s two high-profile additions on the defensive line this offseason along with Mario Williams. In five games, Anderson has 12 tackles and one sack. The setback comes at a difficult time for him, as the Bills play two of Anderson's former teams in back-to-back weeks (Houston and New England).
Veteran Chris Kelsay has started in Anderson's place in recent weeks.
