The Cowboys are already without one starting receiver for Monday’s preseason opener with the Raiders because of a hamstring injury.

But while Miles Austin isn’t expected to even make the trip from Oxnard, Calif., Dez Bryant will likely go and participate in the pre-game warm-ups with the chance to play. Bryant tweaked a hamstring on Saturday and was held out of practice for precautionary reasons.

While Bryant was able to go though the walk-through Sunday morning before the team departed for Oakland, it sounds like the Cowboys will be overly cautious with Bryant, who has been injury-prone in his career.

If Bryant doesn’t play, look for Kevin Ogletree and Cole Beasley to be the starting receivers, with Andre Holmes also getting plenty of reps.

The wide receiver position is one of the more intriguing spots on the field right now, with so many question marks behind the starters. The injuries to Austin and Bryant will likely give even more opportunities for young players to shine.

Don’t rule out the next wave of receivers as well, including Raymond Radway, Dwayne Harris and Tim Benford, who have all had their moments during camp as well.
