Hope you weren't expecting Carolina Panthers Cam Newton to back down. Because if you were, you'll be disappointed.
Newton was lambasted publicly after abruptly leaving his post Super Bowl 50 press conference but appeared in front of the media two days later and defended his actions.

On Friday, Newton posted a picture of himself on Instagram, wearing a "I WIN MY WAY" T-shirt and standing in front of a Muhammad Ali poster. Nothing in the picture is there by accident.
A rough transcription:
This season has been an incredible journey and I want to thank Panther Nation and all of the fans that INSPIRED us to great achievements. I AM NOT PERFECT and I will make mistakes but I will continue to work on improving each day trying to PERFECT all MY IMPERFECTION. Pursuing greatness is my commitment, and I will continue to be TRUE to myself, to my FAMILY and to making all of YOU who follow me PROUD! I WILL WIN ... MY WAY... and hope to INSPIRE you ALL to WIN .... YOUR WAY! - ONE LOVE
He added two hashtags to the caption as well: "Don't be a puppet" and "stay true to you."
