LOOK: 'Game of Thrones' houses get NFL-style helmets
It's only a nine-house league, but the helmets are pretty awesome.

This has been an offseason filled with new templates for NFL helmets. We've seen two different NFL helmet redesigns done, which you can see here and here. There were also Star Wars-themed helmets to coincide with the new trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. After that, it was time to give NBA teams their own NFL-style helmets. And most recently, NFL helmets were reimagined as Marvel superhero teams to coincide with the release of Marvel's The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Now, the fine folks at RSVLTS.com have worked up NFL-style helmets for the houses on the HBO television series Game of Thrones. (Warning: mild Game of Thrones spoilers through the most recent episode below.)
First up is House Baratheon. They're the current holders of the Iron Throne, as King Tommen presides over the seven kingdoms. We won't hold the fact that Tommen is not actually a Baratheon against them. Their "sigil" (essentially a logo) is a black stag on a gold background, which is reflected on this helmet.

Tommen, of course, is actually a Lannister being passed of as a Baratheon. His mother is the former queen, Cersei, and his father is Jamie, Cersei's brother. The former patriarch of the Lannisters was Tywin, but he has shuffled off this mortal coil. He was killed by his son, Tyrion. The Lannisters' sigil is a golden lion on a crimson field.

Next is House Tyrell. Lady Margaery is the current queen of Westeros, as she married Tommen in a delightfully short ceremony that miraculously contained no murders, something that actually needs to be specified when it comes to Westerosi weddings. House Tyrell comes from Highgarden, and their sigil is a gold rose on a green field. Their helmet is simple, but elegant.

Next up is House Stark. There aren't many of them left, but they're still very well respected. They once ruled the North from their seat in Winterfell, and may soon do so again, if Littlefinger has his way. House Stark's sigil is a direwolf on a white field.

The late Ned Stark's late wife Catelyn was born to House Tully of Riverrun. Lady Catelyn's sister, Lyssa, was an actual crazy person. Her son, Robyn Arryn, might be even more crazy. The Tully sigil is a silver trout leaping on a red and blue background. The trout isn't pictured in their helmet, but the red and blue background looks pretty cool here.

The current Warden of the North is Roose Bolton. The less said about him and his wacko son, the better. The Bolton sigil is a flayed man.

The Greyjoys hail from the Iron Islands. They call themselves the Ironborn. Theon is currently a prisoner of Ramsay Bolton. Seriously, let's not say too much about that. The Greyjoy sigil is a golden kraken on a black field.

Then there's House Martell of Dorne. The last two Martells to visit King's Landing have not come back alive. Oberyn, the Prince, was the most recent one to meet his maker. His brother, Doran, the Prince of Dorne and Lord of Sunspear, presides over Dorne. The Martell sigil is a red sun pierce by a gold spear, on an orange field.

House Targaryen basically doesn't exist anymore. There's only one Targaryen left, and it's been that way since the middle of Season 1. Of course, that one Targaryen is Daenerys Stormborn, the First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of Meereen, Queen of the Andals and the Rhoynar and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons. Yeah, it's a long title. House Targaryen has a dragon has a red three-headed dragon on a black field as its sigil, but here they are represented by a scaled helmet in the shade of Drogon's skin, and his fiery eyes.
