Can you believe people complain the NFL Draft is too long? Have they seen the behemoth that is the MLB Draft? 40 rounds, 1,215 (!) picks and it's all done in three days.

After the first round, the most exciting news was the Padres drafting an NFL rookie in Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel. He wasn't the only AFC North connection either.

Somewhere in the maw of the 30-round range -- 32nd to be exact and 952nd to be extremely precise -- the Phillies popped up and snagged Tom Flacco, brother of Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco.

If Tom has anything resembling a Joe-like arm, it's certainly a good thing. But it's no guarantee: while Joe is a towering 6-feet-6, Tom is "only" 6-1.

"I didn't even know they were following me," Flacco told the Philadelphia Inquirer. "It's a great honor."

Flacco also said he's likely "play football" (he apparently has a scholarship to Western Michigan) but said he wouldn't shut the door on signing with the Phils.
