Only by the grace of an inept Rams passing game were the Seahawks able to muster a win Monday night. Ironically, the very same St. Louis offense that ran all over Seattle most of the evening settled for a Kellen Clemens pass attempt on 4th-and-1 with four seconds left in the game and trailing 14-9. Predictably, the ball fell incomplete. Thanks for coming, game over.

Despite the win, Seahawks' defensive tackle Red Bryant readily conceded that the Rams controlled the line of scrimmage.

“They just kicked our ass, bottom line,” Bryant said, via TheMMQB.com's Robert Klemko. “Looking at them on tape, we really didn’t feel like they could rush for 200 yards today. It was a total surprise. “We were still able to get the win, but we do pride ourselves on not letting teams run the ball. We’ve got to watch the tape and see exactly what was allowing them to hit those creases.”

Zac Stacy led the way with 134 yards on 26 carries but didn't get the ball on the game's most important play. Afterwards, coach Jeff Fisher offered this:

“I’m proud of our guys. We explained to them what we had to do. ... We got down to the last play of the game, didn’t make it happen. I feel bad for them but they’ll bounce back.”

Meanwhile, the Seahawks escaped the Edward Jones Dome with a division win. And while the run defense was exposed, the offense looked worse. But that's what good teams do: Win ugly.

The good news: Tackles Russell Okung and Breno Giacomini, and wide receiver Percy Harvin are nearing full health, which means the Seahawks should be in great shape as we head into the final two months of the season.
