Eddie Lacy's struggles with his weight are well documented, and after an underwhelming effort for the Packers in 2015, his coach called him out on not being in shape.

But thanks largely to his work with P90X fitness guru Tony Horton, Lacy's physical appearance has taken a turn for the positive this offseason.

Albert Breer of NFL Network reported Tuesday that Lacy's progress is "remarkable" and the expectations with his return to the Packers are starting to get pretty high.

"Speaking to people around Lacy, the work that he’s done over the course of the last few months with P90x founder Tony Horton, it’s been remarkable the shape he’s gotten himself into," Breer said. "It doesn’t mean a lot of weight loss, but he has been able to redistribute a lot of the weight from his midsection into his shoulders and his arms.

"I know the people around Eddie Lacy really feel like the Packers are going to be happy with what they see when Lacy reports for the offseason program next week."

Lacy popped up on Facebook recently -- in a picture that was later deleted -- and looked absolutely svelte.

He legitimately was thick last season, looking slow and out of shape for much of the year. That's when McCarthy called him out in a press conference, and when Horton offered up his services

Lacy consulted with the fitness guru and the results are apparently paying off. If he's made progress from the picture that popped up online and has really transferred weight from his midsection to his upper body, he's going to be an entirely different running back.

Losing weight is hard to do and getting in shape is even harder. But those two things also make a huge difference in how you live your life and it's, you know, especially important if you're a professional athlete.

The Packers running back could be an entirely different player if he's really in shape.
