UPDATE: The NFLPA approved the proposal, but not in time for it to affect Week 2's games.

It's better than a full year but not quite as good as eight games. That said, under the NFL's new drug-policy proposal, which the NFLPA could approve Friday, Josh Gordon will rejoin the Browns in 2014 after serving a 10-game suspension, reports the Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot.

This is welcome news to a Browns offense that is without downfield playmakers, even if it won't happen until Nov. 23 against the Falcons. Upside: Only two more months on the used car lot!

A season ago, Gordon had 87 receptions for 1,646 yards and nine touchdowns in 14 games. He quickly became one of the league's best wide receivers, something Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer desperately needs in a passing game that currently features legitimate target: tight end Jordon Cameron.
