Tom Brady says he's giving Super Bowl MVP truck to Malcolm Butler
Tom Brady says he's going to give his MVP truck to Malcolm Butler.
Tom Brady got a real nice truck for winning Super Bowl MVP. And he wants to give it to the guy who helped him win the award.
According to Brady on WEEI, he is going to try and figure out a way to give Malcolm Butler the truck he won as MVP. The Patriots cornerback intercepted Russell Wilson on the goal line to seal the Super Bowl victory for New England.
“I would love to give him the truck. I would love to do that," Brady said. "I’m going to figure out how to make that work.”
Butler was an undrafted free agent rookie; he's the ultimate Super Bowl success story. Playing for pennies (relatively), he came out of nowhere to make an incredible play for the Pats that won them the Super Bowl. No one saw that coming, although Brady said he and his teammates weren't surprised by Butler's ability to make a play.
"A guy like Malcolm who makes that type of instinctive, quick play, that’s one of his strong suits,” Brady said. “I don’t think it surprised any of us players, because that’s really what his skill set is. A lot of people didn’t get to see that over the course of the season."
Maybe Butler can use his Super Bowl bonus to hire a good accountant. He's gonna need to figure out how to write off an expensive truck.
The trouble's certainly well worth it for the young man.
