Turf at Rams game catches fire, leads to priceless Shop Vac cameo
The Rams used fireworks during player introductions. Then, their turf caught fire, causing a delay.
The Rams are excited. It's Sunday, it's game day, and their first-round pick, running back Todd Gurley, is active for the first time all season.
Perhaps the Rams got a bit too excited on Sunday.
Rams introducing starters, I just saw guys run out with fire extinguisher on the field near pyrotechnics. Think turf caught spark.

Prior to the team's game against the Steelers, the Rams set their turf on fire. Take a look, as the fire is pretty clearly caused by the fireworks set off during player introductions.
Let's go Rams! #NFL #STL #Rams

Turf is a mess down by south end zone. Might have a short delay here as they clean this up.

Luckily, the Rams had the tool to put out the fire.

And now, the start of the game has been delayed. It might be a while, by the way.

Finally, after 28 minutes, the game kicked off.
Insert joke about the fire being more explosive than the Rams offense. Alternatively: insert joke about the Rams wanting to leave for LA so badly that they're setting their stadium on fire.
You choose.
