The Vikings practice squad signees are a little of the old, and new.

Old: RB Jordan Todman was hampered by a badly sprained ankle. The team also resigned OL Tyler Holmes , DT Chase Baker and CB Bobby Felder, who were with the team this preseason.

New: The Vikings claimed OL Mark Asper off of waivers from the Bills. Asper (6-7 and 325) is a 26-year-old rookie from Oregon who sat out two years of football on a religious mission.

Old and New: The Vikings signed former Packers WR Tori Gurley, who they offered a 53-man roster spot last season when he was on the Packers' practice squad. Gurley denied the offer and remained with the Packers practice squad. When the Packers waived Gurley on Friday and didn’t retain him on their practice squad, the Vikings signed him to their practice squad.

The Vikings also confirmed a trade with the Cardinals for CB A.J. Jefferson for a conditional draft picks in 2013.

To make room for Jefferson and Asper, the team waived T Patrick Brown and CB Zack Bowman. It is possible both players will sign on the practice squad if they pass through waivers. With three spots remaining open on their practice squad, the Vikings are likely not finished with player movement.
