Woodard, a seventh-round rick in 2020, will leave New England after not appearing a single game with the team. The 23-year-old will aim to land a spot on another team's offensive line for the 2021 season.

Patriots' Dustin Woodard: Back in the NFL
The Patriots reinstated Woodard to the active roster Wednesday, Nick O'Malley of MassLive.com reports.
Woodard retired from football shortly after the Patriots selected him in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft, but he appears to have regained his desire to play football. He'll compete for a backup spot behind top center David Andrews (calf) during New England's offseason program.

Dustin Woodard: Retires from football
Woodard has decided to retire from the NFL, Andrew Callahan of The Boston Herald reports.
Per the report, the 2020 seventh-rounder elected to retire because he lost his desire to continue playing football. Prior to his decision, Woodard had been penciled in to back up starting center David Andrews.
