  • Cowboys' Shavon Revel: Season over due to concussion

Revel (concussion) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Giants, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. Revel was unable to practice all week due to the concussion he sustained in the Christmas Day win over the Commanders. After getting a late start to his rookie campaign due to an ACL tear he suffered in college, the cornerback will end the regular season with 35 tackles (23 solo) and three passes defensed over seven games. With Trevon Diggs recently waived by the Cowboys, the team will likely start Reddy Steward at outside cornerback opposite Caelen Carson and move Markquese Bell or Alijah Clark to slot cornerback for Sunday's game.

  • Cowboys' Shavon Revel: DNP to open Week 18 prep

Revel (concussion) didn't practice Wednesday, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. Revel entered the league's concussion protocol following the Cowboys' win over the Commanders on Christmas Day. Even if he does return to practice over the next two days, the rookie third-rounder would have to be cleared by an independent neurologist in order to play against the Giants in Sunday's regular-season finale. Revel has accumulated 32 tackles (20 solo) and three pass defenses over his last five games.

  • Cowboys' Shavon Revel: Placed in concussion protocol

Revel was placed in concussion protocol following Thursday's 30-23 win over the Commanders, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. Revel took a blow to the head in the contest, ultimately walking off the field slowly as a result. He will now face an uphill battle to being available for the team's final regular-season contest in Week 18 versus the Giants.

  • Cowboys' Shavon Revel: Season-high nine tackles in loss

Revel recorded nine tackles (eight solo) and one pass breakup in Sunday's loss to the Chargers. The third-round rookie cornerback made his sixth appearance of the season and produced a season-high nine tackles against Los Angeles. Revel has started each of the last four games and is up to 29 tackles (20 solo) and a pair of pass breakups through six contests.

  • Cowboys' Shavon Revel: Cleared to play against Bolts

Revel (knee) does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Chargers, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. Revel ended Week 16 prep with a full practice Friday, which was enough for the rookie third-rounder to avoid an injury tag for Sunday's contest. Revel will likely start at outside corner after DaRon Bland (foot) was ruled out, and the former could be joined by Trikweze Bridges on the first-team defense if Caelen Carson (shoulder/hamstring) is also unable to play.

  • Cowboys' Shavon Revel: Limited to open week

Revel (knee) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday, Clarence Hill Jr. of AllDLLS.com reports. Revel was able to play through a knee injury in the team's Week 15 loss to the Vikings, so his ability to practice in any capacity to open the week suggests that he's doing fine. The cornerback will have two more chances to log a full practice prior to Sunday's contest against the Chargers.

Revel (knee) does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Vikings, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports. Revel opened the week with back-to-back limited practices due to a knee injury, but the rookie third-rounder has been cleared to play Sunday after logging a full session Friday. He has logged 15 tackles (nine solo) and one pass defense in the four games since the Week 10 bye.

  • Cowboys' Shavon Revel: Working through knee injury

Revel (knee) was limited in Wednesday's practice, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. Revel likely picked up the injury during the Cowboys' Week 14 loss to the Lions, when he played every single defensive snap while logging six tackles (four solo). The rookie third-round cornerback will have two more chances to increase his practice participation and avoid an injury designation against the Vikings on Sunday.

  • Cowboys' Shavon Revel: Posts six tackles on TNF

Revel logged six tackles (four solo) during the Cowboys' 44-30 loss to the Lions on Thursday. The rookie third-rounder finished with the third-most tackles on the Cowboys behind DaRon Bland and DeMarvion Overshown (seven each). Revel struggled on coverage and was unable to recover enough in his zone assignment to break up a 12-yard touchdown pass from Jared Goff to Isaac TeSlaa early in the third quarter. Revel has accumulated 15 takcles (nine solo) and one pass defense through four regular-season games.

  • Cowboys' Shavon Revel: Records six tackles in win

Revel finished with six tackles (two solo) in Thursday's 31-28 win over the Chiefs. The cornerback also played on 95 percent of the defensive snaps with Caelen Carson out due to a hamstring injury. • Cowboys' Shavon Revel: Activated from IR

The Cowboys activated Revel (knee) from injured reserve Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Now that the rookie third-rounder has been activated from IR, he is eligible to make his NFL debut against the Raiders on Monday. Revel was a limited participant in practice during Week 9 prep, and with additional rest courtesy of the Cowboys' Week 10 bye, he'll look to practice in full during the coming week. He is in the final stages of his recovery from a torn ACL that he suffered during his final collegiate season at East Carolina.

  • Cowboys' Shavon Revel: Ruled out for MNF

Revel (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Monday's game against the Cardinals, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports. It was previously reported that Revel is targeting Week 11 for his NFL debut. • Cowboys' Shavon Revel: Expected to play Week 11

Executive vice president Stephen Jones said Friday that Revel (knee) is expected to return from the reserve/non-football injury list ahead of the Cowboys' Week 11 clash against the Raiders on Monday, Nov. 17, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. Revel has been limited in practice since he was designated to return from the NFI list Oct. 22. He won't be activated ahead of Sunday's game against the Cardinals, but with the Cowboys on a bye Week 10, the rookie third-rounder will have additional time to progress in his rehab and be available for Week 11. Revel's return would bolster a Cowboys secondary that will be without starting corner Trevon Diggs (knee) until at least Week 13 against the Chiefs on Thursday, Nov. 27.

  • Cowboys' Shavon Revel: Designated to return

Revel (knee) was designated to return from the reserve/non-football injury list Wednesday. The 2025 third-round pick from East Carolina recorded 54 total tackles, including 1.0 sacks, and 13 passes defended, with one interception, over 12 games during his last full collegiate season (2023). He now has 21 days to be added to Dallas' active roster and will likely operate as a depth piece in the secondary once fully healthy.

  • Cowboys' Shavon Revel: Sent to reserve/NFI list

The Cowboys placed Revel (ACL) on the reserve/non-football injury list Tuesday. Revel will be required to miss the first four games of the regular season, at least, as he continues to work his way back from a torn ACL suffered last September during his final collegiate season at East Carolina. Once healthy, the rookie third-round pick is expected to compete for a significant role in the Cowboys' secondary, but he'll have to wait until after Week 4 at the earliest to resume practicing.

  • Cowboys' Shavon Revel: Unlikely to play in season opener

Revel (knee) is unlikely to be ready for the start of the regular season, Joe Hoyt of The Dallas Morning News reports. The cornerback continues to rehab an ACL that he tore last September while playing for East Carolina. Revel fell to the 76th pick in the draft as a result of the injury and began training camp on the active/non-football injury list. Once healthy, Revel should have an opportunity to carve out a meaningful role in the Cowboys' secondary.

  • Cowboys' Shavon Revel: Starting training camp on NFI list

Revel (knee) was placed on the active/non-football injury list Monday, Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News reports. Revel dropped to 76th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft due to a torn ACL which he suffered in September. His camp has been optimistic about gaining clearance at some point during training camp, but Revel isn't quite ready to begin football activities at the start of training camp. It remains to be seen whether he'll be healthy in time to play Week 1 against the Eagles on Sept. 4.

  • Cowboys' Shavon Revel: Slide ends in Dallas

The Cowboys selected Revel (knee) in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 76th overall. If not for a torn ACL this fall, Revel could have heard his name called much earlier. He showed sticky coverage ability and playmaking ability while at East Carolina and checks in with good size for a corner (6-foot-1, 194 pounds). The torn ACL isn't the only injury on his record, so durability is a concern. The hope is that Revel will be ready to go by training camp, but that remains to be seen. Regardless, Dallas is getting a Top 50 talent at a discount.
