The Browns waived Gill with a non-football injury designation Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Gill got his first pro contract with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent in April 2024 but didn't make Los Angeles' roster. He then latched on with Cleveland's practice squad last December, though he didn't get into any games with the team. After re-signing with the Browns in June, Gill now will need to prove his health in order to get another opportunity elsewhere.

The Browns signed Gill on Wednesday.
Gill spent five weeks on Cleveland's practice squad in 2024 after originally being signed by the Chargers as an undrafted free agent. Now, he's getting another chance to make an impression with the Browns, but he has relatively stiff competition to make their final 53-man roster for 2025.

Jaelen Gill: Signed to practice squad
Rotowire
The Browns signed Gill to their practice squad Tuesday.
Gill signed with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent in May but was let go as a part of final roster cuts, and he will now get another opportunity with the Browns. The 25-year-old could provide depth to Cleveland's short-handed receiving core, as both Cedric Tillman (concussion) and Jamari Thrash (shoulder) are dealing with injuries.

Rotowire
The Chargers waived Gill on Tuesday.
Gill signed with the Chargers in April as an undrafted free agent. The Fresno State product played in all three preseason games, finishing with three catches on six targets for 27 yards. Gill was unable to make the 53-man roster, but assuming he clears waivers, he could opt to stick around on the Chargers' practice squad.
