Giants' Nate Solder: Avoids serious injury
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Solder's leg injury was determined to be nothing serious, Ralph Vacchiano of Sportsnet New York reports.

Solder went down when two of the Giants' linemen fell on the back of his legs, and the team initially feared he may have suffered a long term injury. After being evaluated by team doctors, Solder was cleared of any major ailment. He may miss a brief period while the minor injury heals up, but he's expected to be 100 percent when training camp rolls around.

Giants' Nate Solder: Hurts leg in scrum Thursday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Solder suffered a right leg injury during Thursday's minicamp practice, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York reports.

Solder's leg was the casualty after a scrum between rookie offensive lineman Will Hernandez and defensive tackle Damon Harrison got out of hand. The 30-year-old, whom the Giants lavished with a four-year, $62 million deal in free agency to take over as their starting left tackle, said that he's dealing with some soreness in the leg, but hopes that's the extent of the injury. The Giants should provide an update if the injury is anything that jeopardizes Solder's availability for training camp.

Nate Solder: Headed to Giants
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Solder agreed to terms Wednesday with the Giants on a four-year, $62 million contract, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Per Matt Lombardo of, Solder's deal contains nearly $35 million guaranteed.

The new deal makes Solder, who was widely regarded as the top available tackle in free agency, as the NFL's highest-paid lineman. He'll replace Erik Flowers as the Giants' starting left tackle, which represents good news for quarterback Eli Manning and the Giants offense as a whole. Solder allowed six sacks and 19 quarterback hits while starting all 16 regular-season contests for the Patriots in 2017.
