Jets' Chris Jones: Waived by Jets
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jones (undisclosed) was waived by the Jets on Thursday.

Jones hasn't had much impact defensively since he left New England, seeing just 301 defensive snaps and racking up 17 tackles (12 solo) last season. There's a chance he's claimed off waivers by another club, or he will otherwise become a free agent.

Jones was signed by the 49ers on Tuesday.

The 49ers bring in Jones to bolster their defensive line after Arik Armstead (shoulder) was placed on injured reserve. Jones has been around the league since he was drafted in 2013 but most recently played for the Dolphins, recording seven tackles in seven games before being cut on Nov. 7. The 26-year-old will compete for reps with backup defensive end Ronald Blair behind new starter DeForest Buckner.

Dolphins' Chris Jones: Re-signs with Dolphins
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jones was re-signed by the Dolphins on Wednesday.

Jones was originally cut by Miami prior to the beginning of the 2016 regular season, but the team will add the defensive tackle back to the roster after placing fellow defensive lineman Earl Mitchell (calf) on Injured Reserve. Jones shouldn't draw much attention in IDP formats as he's simply expected to provide depth for the Dolphins.

This move comes as somewhat of a surprise as Jones had been working with the second unit. The Dolphins are deep on the defensive line, but in the end the team decided to go with younger and cheaper backups.

Patriots WR Brandon LaFell limited in practice Thursday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com

Wide receiver Brandon LaFell was one of four Patriots players limited in practice Thursday, but he doesn't anticipate his toe and shoulder injuries keeping him out of Sunday's AFC Championship game, NESN.com reports.

"At this time of year, everybody’s banged up," LaFell said. "So when you think about sitting out, you think about all of them hard days you put in in camp, OTAs and you’re like, ‘I didn’t do all of that work six-to-seven months ago to sit out now.’ So no matter what injury (anybody’s) got in this locker room, they’re going to play through."

Defensive lineman Chris Jones (elbow), linebacker Dont'a Hightower (shoulder) and cornerback Brandon Browner (ankle) were also limited in practice Thursday. Quarterback Tom Brady (ankle) was able to practice in full.

New England is a 6 1/2-point favorite for Sunday's home game against Indianapolis.
