San Francisco has signed Kaufusi to a reserve/future contract.
Kaufusi signed with the Saints as an undrafted free agent in May of 2019, and after he didn't stick around, the guard competed for a reserve role for the Giants. The 27-year-old will now aim to make his NFL debut with San Francisco.
Kaufusi dealt with a hamstring injury Sunday, Connor Hughes of The Athletic reports.
Kaufusi is competing for a reserve role along the interior of New York's offensive line during training camp, so he'll look to resume practicing without limitations as quickly as possible.
Kaufusi signed with the Saints as an undrafted free agent Thursday.
Kaufusi had a big senior year at BYU with 56 tackles (9.5 for loss), 8.5 sacks and two passes defensed before his season was cut short in November due to a right foot injury, though he now appears healthy. The 6-foot-9, 278-pound defensive end also played basketball during his first three years with the Cougars.
