If not for bad luck, the Columbus Blue Jackets would have absolutely no luck during the 2014-15 season.

Injuries have been a constant struggle this season, and they suffered another one on Saturday when it was announced by the team that forward Boone Jenner will be sidelined for one to two months due to a stress fracture in his back.

Jenner had already been sidelined this season due to a hand injury. In 20 games he has managed to score six goals and record six assists. Columbus' second-round pick in 2011, Jenner burst onto the scene last season as a rookie with 16 goals in 72 games and was a driving force behind their trip to the Eastern Conference playoffs, scoring three goals and adding two assists in their six-game opening round loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

His sophomore season, however, has now been derailed by injuries, as has much of the Blue Jackets' season.

Along with Jenner, the Blue Jackets have also lost Brandon Dubinsky, James Wisniewski, Ryan Murray, Sergei Bobrovsky, Artem Anisimov and Fedor Tyutin for extended periods of time.

This latest injury to Jenner comes at a particularly costly time as the Blue Jackets had recently started to play some of their best hockey of the season in an effort to maybe crawl back into the playoff race in the Metropolitan Division. Columbus has won seven of its past eight games and has earned a point in each game.

Jenner played 20 minutes in Columbus' overtime loss to the Washington Capitals on Thursday night.
