Chinakhov posted a goal and an assist in Monday's 5-2 win against the Bruins.
Chinakhov ended up with an impressive plus-3 rating, along with a shot on goal and a blocked shot in his 13:55 of ice time across 17 shifts. It was his first multi-point performance since notching two assists in a win over the Predators at Nationwide Arena on Oct. 20, 2022. Blue Jackets' Yegor Chinakhov: Pots first goal of season
Chinakhov scored his first goal of the season in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Penguins.
He wheeled out of the corner and snapped the puck past Tristan Jarry in the final minute of the first period to give Columbus an early 2-1 lead. Chinakhov had been held off the scoresheet in his first four games of the season after missing the first few weeks with a back issue, and while the 2020 first-round pick has yet to find much success in the NHL with 12 goals and 28 points in his first 97 games, he has both the skill and the opportunity with the Blue Jackets to heat up quickly.

Blue Jackets' Yegor Chinakhov: Up from AHL
Chinakhov was called up from AHL Cleveland on Friday.
Chinakhov began the campaign on the injured/non-roster list because of a back issue, but he was activated and sent to Cleveland on Oct. 25. In the AHL, he's supplied three goals and four points in three contests this season, leading to his promotion. Chinakhov might get a chance to make his NHL season debut Saturday as a part of Columbus' bottom six.

Chinakhov sustained a back strain during training camp, but it seems he's now able to play. The 22-year-old had 13 points in 30 contests with Columbus and eight points in seven outings with AHL Cleveland in 2022-23. Although he hasn't done much yet at the top level, Chinakhov was selected with the No. 21 overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft.

Chinakhov (ankle) didn't skate with the Blue Jackets on Thursday, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports.
The 22-year-old winger had begun to skate before the All-Star break, so the fact Chinakhov wasn't on the ice Thursday suggests he may have had some sort of setback in his recovery from a high-ankle sprain. "He's still progressing," coach Brad Larsen said. "It's gone longer than you'd hope, but that's just the nature of that injury."
