Capitals' Damien Riat: Joins Swiss club
Riat was loaned by the Capitals to Geneve-Servette HC (NLA) for the start of the 2020-21 campaign.
Riat is expected to return to the Capitals once NHL training camps kick off ahead of the 2020-21 NHL season. In 36 games for Biel HC last year, the 23-year-old winger notched 11 goals and 11 helpers. Once he heads back to Washington, Riat figures to compete for a spot on the 23-man roster.

Capitals' Damien Riat: Inks entry-level deal
Riat signed a two-year, entry-level contract with the Capitals on Thursday.
Riat has spent the last two seasons with EHC Biel-Bienne of the Swiss NLA league, notching 22 goals and 47 points in 84 games. The 2016 fourth-round pick will attend Washington's training camp for a second straight year ahead of the 2020-21 campaign, but he'll likely spend the entirety of the season with AHL Hershey.

Damien Riat: Will attend training camp
Riat is expected to attend both the Capitals' rookie development camp and the main training camp this offseason, Swiss Hockey News reports.
Riat has been plying his trade in the Swiss league since being selected 117th overall by the Capitals in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. The speedy winger notched 11 goals and 25 points in 48 games with Biel HC in the 2018-19 season, but will likely need some seasoning with AHL Hershey to acclimate to the North American game.
