Kraken's Jagger Firkus: Hat trick in AHL loss
Firkus scored all three goals in AHL Coachella Valley's 6-3 loss to Bakersfield on Saturday.
Firkus has six points over his last two games, and this was his fourth performance of at least three points this season. The 21-year-old winger is up to seven goals and 17 points through 13 contests to begin his second AHL campaign. Firkus' scoring touch is evident already, and that should help him push for a spot with the Kraken in the not-too-distant future.

Kraken's Jagger Firkus: Trio of assists Tuesday
Firkus recorded three assists in AHL Coachella Valley's 6-3 win over Bakersfield on Tuesday.
The trio of helpers vaulted Firkus above a point-per-game pace for the year. He's now at four goals and 10 helpers through 12 appearances to begin his second professional campaign. Firkus was known for his scoring touch more than his playmaking while in junior hockey, but he's showcasing more of the latter with the Firebirds. He could get a call-up if he's able to sustain this pace for most of the year.

Kraken's Jagger Firkus: Earns three points in AHL win
Firkus scored a goal on four shots and added two assists in AHL Coachella Valley's 6-3 win over San Jose on Wednesday.
Firkus has yet to make his NHL debut, though that should come as no surprise with the Kraken's methodical approach to development. The 21-year-old winger had been held off the scoresheet for the first three games of the Firebirds' season. Last year, he put up 36 points in 69 regular-season appearances as an AHL rookie, so he still has some work to do to put himself in position for a call-up.

Kraken's Jagger Firkus: Decent work in first pro season
Firkus has earned nine goals and 23 points over 45 appearances with AHL Coachella Valley this season.
Firkus earned two points per game in the 2023-24 regular season with WHL Moose Jaw, racking up 61 goals and 65 assists over 63 appearances. He added 36 points over 24 outings between the WHL playoffs and the Memorial Cup. Being an undersized and creative winger didn't hold Firkus back in junior hockey, but playing against men in the AHL has slowed down his production. He's got an excellent shot and good vision -- all he needs now is more development time, which the Kraken are likely to give him before he gets an NHL look.

Kraken's Jagger Firkus: Inks ELC
Firkus signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Kraken on Thursday.
Firkus played with WHL Moose Jaw in 2022-23, posting 88 points (40 goals, 44 assists) in 66 games. He was selected 35th overall in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. The 18-year-old winger will likely spend 2023-24 at the junior level unless he has a remarkable training camp.
