Wahlberg was loaned to AHL Rochester on Saturday, per Heather Engel of NHL.com.

Sabres' Anton Wahlberg: Summoned from Rochester
Wahlberg was recalled from AHL Rochester on Tuesday.
This is Wahlberg's first promotion to the NHL after coming to North America toward the end of the 2023-24 season to play with the Sabres' minor-league affiliate. The Swedish forward, a second-round selection (No. 39 overall) in 2023, has produced six goals, 25 points and a team-high plus-12 rating over 47 appearances with the Americans this season. Due to the Sabres dealing with several injuries up front, Wahlberg is poised to make his NHL debut in New Jersey on Wednesday.

Sabres' Anton Wahlberg: Three-point effort in win
Wahlberg scored a goal and added two assists in AHL Rochester's 5-3 win over Bridgeport.
This was Wahlberg's second multi-point effort of the season. He's earned six points over his last five games and has eight points through 14 appearances overall. The 20-year-old forward is looking to build on his 30-point effort over 63 regular-season outings in 2024-25.

Sabres' Anton Wahlberg: Showing potential in minors
Wahlberg registered two assists Tuesday to extend his AHL scoring streak to three games.
Wahlberg has a goal and five points over that three-game stretch. That brings him up to eight goals and 18 points in 36 appearances with Rochester this campaign after recording a goal and four points in nine AHL regular-season outings in 2023-24. The 19-year-old is a big presence at 6-foot-3 and has the potential to eventually become a solid two-way center for the Sabres, perhaps primarily on the team's third line. However, it might be a couple of years before he reaches that level.

Sabres' Anton Wahlberg: Returning from World Juniors
Wahlberg was reassigned to AHL Rochester on Wednesday following his appearance with Sweden at the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship.
It was an impressive tournament for Wahlberg despite Sweden finishing third, as he racked up four goals and four assists in seven games. He's been less productive in the minors this year, managing just 10 points in 25 games, so he may have to wait a while before getting a chance to make his NHL debut.
