Bruins' Michael DiPietro: Sent to AHL Providence
DiPietro was reassigned to AHL Providence on Friday, Mark Divver of the New England Hockey Journal reports.
DiPietro was recalled on an emergency basis Tuesday and backed up Joonas Korpisalo on Thursday in Boston's 4-2 win over Columbus, and he made two saves in the second period while Korpisalo was being checked out following a collision in the crease with Miles Wood. DiPietro was called up as Jeremy Swayman was given the night off after winning Olympic gold for the United States on Sunday in Italy.

Bruins' Michael DiPietro: Back up with big club
DiPietro was recalled from AHL Providence on Tuesday on an emergency basis, according to Scott McLaughlin of WEEI.
This is DiPietro's second call-up under emergency conditions in the last week, as he'll continue to help the Bruins in practice as a result of Jeremy Swayman and Joonas Korpisalo competing in the 2026 Winter Olympics. The NHL season resumes Wednesday, but the Bruins aren't back in action until Thursday versus Columbus, so Swayman should be back with the team by then after winning the gold medal Sunday. If that's the case, DiPietro will probably be sent back to Providence in the near future.

Bruins' Michael DiPietro: Sent back to minors
DiPietro was assigned to AHL Providence on Friday, Scott McLaughlin of WEEI reports.
DiPietro was recalled by Boston on an emergency basis Wednesday, but his return to the minors will allow him to play in games for Providence over the weekend. Over 28 appearances in the AHL this year, he's gone 21-5-0 with a 1.64 GAA and .942 save percentage.

Bruins' Michael DiPietro: Called up Wednesday
DiPietro was recalled from AHL Providence on an emergency basis Wednesday.
The Bruins have resumed practicing with just over a week remaining before the NHL season resumes, and DiPietro will fill in for the team while Jeremy Swayman and Joonas Korpisalo are competing at the Olympics. It seems likely that DiPietro will return to the AHL once Swayman and Korpisalo rejoin the team.

Bruins' Michael DiPietro: Earns shutout over Cleveland
DiPietro recorded a 21-save shutout in AHL Providence's 5-0 win over Cleveland on Saturday.
This was DiPietro's fifth win in his last six outings, and it's also his first shutout of the season. He's now at a 15-5-0 record with a 1.74 GAA and a .938 save percentage over 21 appearances. If the Bruins grow tired of Joonas Korpisalo in the backup role, DiPietro could be ready for a longer look at the NHL level, where he hasn't played since 2021-22.

Bruins' Michael DiPietro: Remains undefeated in AHL this year
DiPietro stopped 42 of 43 shots in AHL Providence's 2-1 win over Cleveland on Friday.
DiPietro has been superb for Providence so far, going 6-0-0 with a 2.17 GAA and a .929 save percentage in six starts. The 26-year-old is doing everything he can to force the Bruins' hands for a call-up, but there's no room for him in the NHL when both Jeremy Swayman and Joonas Korpisalo are healthy and playing well. At this point, DiPietro could be a trade chip for Boston to dangle in front of a team looking to upgrade its goaltending depth.

Bruins' Michael DiPietro: Grabs two-year deal
DiPietro signed a two-year, $1.625 million contract with Boston on Monday.
Interestingly, DiPietro's contract is a one-way deal that will make it more expensive to move him to the minors this upcoming season. The Bruins already have both Jeremy Swayman and Joonas Korpisalo under contract, so there figures to be significant competition at the goalie position during training camp.

DiPietro hasn't gotten into an NHL game this season but has put up solid numbers with AHL Providence, registering a 17-8-0 record, .917 save percentage and 2.52 GAA in 26 appearances. Even if the team opted to part ways with Jeremy Swayman or Linus Ullmark this summer, the 24-year-old DiPietro could face an uphill battle in securing a spot on the Bruins' 23-man roster next season.
