  • Avalanche's Trent Miner: Sent back to AHL

Miner was reassigned to AHL Colorado by the Avalanche, the team announced Sunday. Miner was up as the backup to Mackenzie Blackwood in the absence of Scott Wedgewood (back). With Wedgewood set to suit up Tuesday against the Predators, Miner will return to AHL Colorado, where the 24-year-old Miner is 4-1-0 with a 2.16 GAA and a .908 save percentage.

  • Avalanche's Trent Miner: Promoted from minors

Miner was recalled from AHL Colorado on Wednesday. Miner's elevation to the NHL roster comes as Scott Wedgewood is currently dealing with a back injury. If needed, Miner figures to serve as the No. 2 option behind Mackenzie Blackwood against the Islanders on Thursday. Depending on how long Wedgewood is out, Miner could see action during an upcoming back-to-back versus the Rangers and Flyers on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

  • Avalanche's Trent Miner: Starting Tuesday

Miner will patrol the home crease in Tuesday's preseason game versus Vegas, according to Bailey Curtis of The Hockey News. With Mackenzie Blackwood (lower body) dealing with an injury, Miner could begin the 2025-26 campaign as Scott Wedgewood's backup. The 24-year-old Miner posted a 22-10-6 record with a 2.12 GAA and a .918 save percentage across 38 regular-season appearances for AHL Colorado in 2024-25.

  • Avalanche's Trent Miner: Back in AHL

Miner was loaned to AHL Colorado on Saturday. Miner was the backup netminder this week to Mackenzie Blackwood, as Scott Wedgewood was on the sidelines due to an upper-body injury. The Avalanche don't play again until Feb. 22 with the NHL taking a break for the 4 Nations Face-Off. Miner has allowed four goals on 33 shots in a pair of NHL appearances this season.

  • Avalanche's Trent Miner: Set for promotion

Miner will be recalled from AHL Colorado prior to Sunday's home game versus the Flyers. Miner's promotion suggests either Mackenzie Blackwood or Scott Wedgewood is in doubt for Sunday's contest. The 23-year-old Miner has allowed four goals on 33 shots over two NHL appearances this season.

  • Avalanche's Trent Miner: Comes up short in first start

Miner turned aside 17 shots in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to Chicago. The rookie goalie was beaten once in each period in his first career NHL start, while his offense had trouble solving Petr Mrazek in the other crease. Miner may not see any more action before returning to AHL Colorado -- the Avs don't play another back-to-back set until the final weekend of January, but Scott Wedgewood (lower body) figures to be back by then to back up Mackenzie Blackwood.

  • Avalanche's Trent Miner: Up from minors

Miner will be called up by the Avalanche on Friday, Meghan Angley of Guerilla Sports reports. Miner has a 2.47 GAA and a .903 save percentage in 16 appearances with AHL Colorado in 2024-25. He's being recalled since Scott Wedgewood is dealing with a lower-body injury. Mackenzie Blackwood figures to get the majority of the starts during Wedgewood's absence, but Miner might play between the pipes during the Avalanche's upcoming back-to-back in Chicago on Wednesday and in Minnesota on Thursday.

  • Avalanche's Trent Miner: Recalled from AHL

Miner was summoned from AHL Colorado on Monday. Miner will probably be Scott Wedgewood's backup in Tuesday's road game against Pittsburgh because Mackenzie Blackwood (illness) will be unavailable. The 23-year-old Miner has a 5-4-2 record with a 2.69 GAA and an .895 save percentage in 11 minor-league appearances this season. He made 12 saves on 13 shots in a relief appearance for the Avalanche on Nov. 15 against Washington during a 5-2 loss.

  • Avalanche's Trent Miner: Moved to AHL

Miner was reassigned to AHL Colorado on Saturday. Miner made a relief appearance Friday, stopping 12 of 13 shots en route to a 5-2 loss to Washington. Alexandar Georgiev (upper body) is day-to-day, which is why Miner was with the NHL club. Colorado doesn't play again until Monday's road game against Philadelphia, so Miner might be recalled if Georgiev is unavailable for that match.

  • Avalanche's Trent Miner: Inks one-year contract

Miner signed a one-year contract extension with the Avalanche on Tuesday. Miner spent his time in the AHL and ECHL this season. He recorded an impressive .930 save percentage through 18 appearances during his time in the AHL as well as a .917 save percentage through 11 ECHL appearances. Alexandar Georgiev and Justus Annunen are both under contract through 2024-25, so Miner will likely spend most, if not all, of next season in the minors.
