    Cournoyer posted a 16-save shutout in Cornell University's 4-0 win over Harvard University on Saturday.

    This was Cournoyer's first shutout in his NCAA career. While he hasn't racked up shutouts, he has a stellar 17-8-0 record with a 1.93 GAA and a .919 save percentage over 25 starts this season. The Canadiens prospect has looked good, but he will still need more development time beyond this season.

  • Canadiens' Alexis Cournoyer: Honored by conference again

    Cournoyer earned ECAC Rookie of the Week honors Monday.

    Cournoyer has been excellent for Cornell University this season. He's been named the ECAC's Rookie of the Week three times in 2025-26, as well as one honor as Goalie of the Week. For the season, he is 13-4-0 with a 1.84 GAA and a .923 save percentage in 17 appearances. It'll be a while before he's an option for the Canadiens, but he's looking like a good fifth-round pick after being taken 145th overall in 2025.

  • Canadiens' Alexis Cournoyer: Secures weekly honor

    Cournoyer was named the ECAC Goalie of the Week on Monday.

    Cournoyer stopped 32 of 34 shots for Cornell University over the weekend, securing a 2-1 overtime win over Dartmouth College on Friday and a 4-1 win over Harvard University on Saturday. Through 15 outings this season, Cournoyer is 11-4-0 with a 1.82 GAA and a .925 save percentage, numbers right in line with how he performed in the QMJHL with Cape Breton last year. This was his third weekly award this season after previously claiming two ECAC Rookie of the Week honors in November.

    Cournoyer was named the ECAC Rookie of the Week on Monday.

    Cournoyer has claimed that award twice in the last three weeks. This time, he posted two wins for Cornell University over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Union College, allowing just two goals on 43 shots. Cournoyer is up to a 6-1-0 record with a 1.30 GAA and a .953 save percentage over seven games as a freshman this year.

    Cournoyer stopped 54 of 57 shots over two games in Cornell University's 3-1 win Friday over Harvard University and a 2-1 loss to Dartmouth College on Saturday. He is 2-1-0 on the season and should continue to see a hefty workload for Cornell in his freshman year after leaving the QMJHL following 2024-25. Cournoyer is a Canadiens prospect, drafted 145th overall in 2025.
