  • Stars' Dillon Heatherington: Making playoff debut

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(5/3/19) Heatherington will slot into the lineup for Friday's Game 5 matchup against the Blues, Jim Thomas of The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Friday will mark Heatherington's first action in an NHL playoff game, as he'll slot into the third line in place of the injured Joel Hanley (upper body). The Alberta native has spent most of the 2018-19 campaign in the minors, but has logged one assist, a plus-4 rating and six hits over five games with the big club while averaging 10:11 of ice time.

Stars' Dillon Heatherington: Drops back to minors

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(11/11/18) Heatherington was reassigned to AHL Texas on Sunday, Mark Stepneski of the Stars' official site reports.

Heatherington averaged 10:11 through five games, dishing out six hits and recording a plus-4 rating. It appears either Marc Methot (lower body) or Roman Polak (illness) will be ready to play Monday versus the Blue Jackets.

Stars' Dillon Heatherington: Promoted to NHL

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(11/2/18) Heatherington was called up from AHL Texas on Friday.

The Stars placed another defenseman in Connor Carrick (foot) on injured reserve Thursday, so Heatherington figures to be on hand for Saturday's road game against the Capitals. However, there's no guarantee he makes his season debut with the parent club since Julius Honka and Roman Polak are available as a third-pairing cohort.

Stars' Dillon Heatherington: Placed on waiver wire

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/27/18) The Stars waived Heatherington on Thursday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

As a second-round (50th overall) pick to Columbus in the 2013 draft, Heatherington's prospect status is fading quickly. He signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Stars in July, but there's been nothing to suggest that he'll be anything more than an organizational tweener in the upcoming season.

Stars' Dillon Heatherington: Earns two-way contract with Dallas

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(7/16/18) Heatherington signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Stars on Monday.

The 6-foot-4 blueliner appeared in six games with Dallas last season, registering one assist and 26 penalty minutes. Heatherington spent most of his season with AHL Texas, scoring three goals and 17 points for the minor league club. He'll have a shot to make the NHL roster to start the 2018-19 campaign but likely won't have a big enough role to earn any fantasy attention.
