  • Penguins' Zach Aston-Reese: Scores again Thursday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/15/18) Aston-Reese scored a power-play goal and registered four shots on net through 14:18 of ice time (2:38 with the man advantage) during Thursday's 3-1 win over Los Angeles.

While Aston-Reese's goal was a Kris Letang point shot that deflected in off his foot, it was a power-play tally, and for the second consecutive game, the rookie spent the bulk of his even-strength ice time with Sidney Crosby. The 23-year-old forward posted standout numbers with Northeastern University before collecting a respectable nine goals and 29 points through 41 AHL games this year, so Aston-Reese boasts a notable offensive pedigree. His fantasy arrow is pointing up.

Penguins' Zach Aston-Reese: Scores twice, jumps up to top line

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/13/18) Aston-Reese scored twice during Tuesday's 6-3 win over Ottawa.

The big news from Tuesday's game was the rookie's promotion to Sidney Crosby's flank, and No. 87 assisted on both of Aston-Reese's goals. There's no guarantee the line combination sticks, but for the time being, the 23-year-old winger qualifies as a potential grab in deeper fantasy settings. It's definitely a situation to monitor.

Penguins' Zach Aston-Reese: Promoted to parent club

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/3/18) Aston-Reese was called up from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Saturday, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

This is Aston-Reese's first call-up of the season. He was actually featured on a line with Evgeni Malkin and Phil Kessel in preseason and managed to pick up two goals, an assist and plus-2 rating over three exhibition contests. We wouldn't expect him to assume that coveted position Saturday against the Devils, but Aston-Reese at the very least should be a viable replacement option with Conor Sheary on injured reserve and Patric Hornqvist out with a lower-body ailment of his own.

Penguins' Zach Aston-Reese: Sent to minors

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/27/17) Aston-Reese was reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Tuesday, the Pittsburgh Post Gazette reports.

Despite playing on the same line as Phil Kessel and Evgeni Malkin all preseason, Aston-Reese was sent down in a 21-player cut wave Tuesday. After putting up 63 points in 38 games as the assistant captain for Northeastern University in the 2016-17 season, the 23-year-old certainly has offensive potential, so he'll be worth keeping tabs on if he's recalled during the upcoming season.
