  • Sabres' Rasmus Dahlin: Power-play time aplenty

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(12/12/18) Dahlin had eights shots on goal and 10:04 on the power play in Tuesday's win over the Kings.

Getting over 10 minutes of power-play time doesn't happen every day, but Dahlin wasn't able to take advantage of the opportunity. He's getting chances, noted by his eight shots on target, but is snakebitten right now. He won the rookie of the month award for November, but has gone pointless in his past six contests, five of them Buffalo losses. Being new to the NHL comes with its ups and downs, and Dahlin likely won't go pointless for many more games should he continue to see quality power-play minutes.

Sabres' Rasmus Dahlin: Named Rookie of the Month

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(12/1/18) Dahlin was awarded the top NHL rookie for November.

Dahlin had 10 points in 15 games during the month of November. After a relatively slow start in October with four points in 12 games, he has become much more comfortable on the ice. His Sabres have surged to the top of the standings, and Dahlin has been a large factor in their success. He's working his way into the Calder Trophy race as the league's top rookie.

Sabres' Rasmus Dahlin: Moved to top power-play unit

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(11/26/18) Dahlin picked up a power-play assist while on the top unit in Saturday's win over Detroit, Lance Lysowski of the Buffalo News reports.

That makes three straight games Dahlin has a power-play assist. He has really started to show his offensive talents, with eight points in his past eight games. The plan is for Dahlin and Rasmus Ristolainen to rotate in and out of the top power-play pairing over the course of the season. This gives each defenseman a considerable fantasy boost when it's their turn on that unit.

Sabres' Rasmus Dahlin: Two-point effort in win over Wild

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(11/18/18) Dahlin scored a goal and an assist while adding three shots and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Wild.

The teenage sensation now has one goal and five points in his last four games as he begins to adjust to the speed of play in the NHL. Dahlin isn't going to be challenging for the Norris Trophy any time soon, but the Sabres must still be thrilled with what the first overall pick in the 2018 draft has delivered to begin his rookie season -- two goals and 10 points in 20 games, with 29 shots and 15 blocked shots and a sparkling plus-6 rating.

Sabres' Rasmus Dahlin: First career multi-point game

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(11/10/18) Dahlin registered his first multi-point game in the NHL Saturday in a 4-3 shootout win over the Canucks. He delivered two assists.

This will be the first of many for the potential future Norris winner. Dahlin is on a 35-point pace right now, but that could increase. The talent is clearly there. Dahlin is a delicious keeper, but he's only a deep bench option in most leagues right now.
