Whenever Lionel Messi goes out of his way to help others, there's a lot of positivity around it. After all, the fortunate Argentine has always expressed his desire to help the less fortunate. But, some don't want his help.

According to Ahram Online, the striker agreed to donated a pair of soccer shoes to a Saudi television station, which would put them up for auction to benefit a charity. A member of the Egyptian parliament and the federation president has called the gift insulting.

Part of the show "Yes, I am famous," the channel mainly targets Egyptians. Said Hasasin of the Egyptian Parliament was offended by the donation, so much that he took off his shoes during his TV show and said he would donate them to Argentina, where Messi is from.

"We [Egyptians] have never been humiliated during our seven thousand years of civilization. I will hit you with the shoes, Messi," Hasasin said during his show.

Messi was trying to be helpful, not go out of his way to offend people. There appears to be a bit of a culture clash here. Messi was simply donating his shoes. It's not like he said Egypt is super poor and should thank him for his donation. Sometimes people just take things the wrong way, and this is a prime example of the host doing just that. It certainly isn't anything to be offended about.

And Messi has humiliated Egyptians more than anyone in history? Come on, man. That sounds like a bit much, does it not?

I guess Egypt losing to Saudia Arabia 5-1 in the 1999 Confederations Cup wasn't as bad.
