The first international break of the 2021-22 season is upon us, as the last stage of Concacaf qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup gets underway with United States men's national team squaring off against El Salvador, Canada and Honduras. You can catch all of the USMNT's away matches on Paramount+. The World Cup and European champions are into immediate action with France hosting Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as Italy welcoming Bulgaria. Europe is not the only continent with significant action this month as South America will witness Brazil and Argentina clashing for the first time since this summer's Copa America final on fuboTV (try for free).

We look at a few of our games to watch during the break.

5. China PR vs. Japan

Date: Tuesday, Sept. 7 | Time: 11 a.m. ET
Live stream: Paramount+
Ceasars Sportsbook Odds: CHN +850 | Draw +333 | JAP -275

Why watch: Japan are back in action after many of their players agonizingly missed out on a first-ever soccer Olympic medal on home soil and their rivalry with the Chinese is always fierce. Interestingly, despite the Japanese being more established as a force on the international stage, the Chinese have won as many times (15) when they have faced Samurai Blue.

4. Ukraine vs. France

Date: Saturday, Sept. 4 | Time: 2:45 p.m. ET
Live stream: ESPN+
Ceasars Sportsbook Odds: UKR +400 | Draw +270 | FRA -150

Why watch: Despite crashing and burning at UEFA Euro 2020, France remain World Cup titleholders while Ukraine went unexpectedly far this summer and now have a new manager in Oleksandr Petrakov while Andriy Shevchenko's replacement is identified. Considering that it was a draw in Paris, another tight encounter could be on the cards.

3. Switzerland vs. Italy

Date: Sunday, Sept. 5 | Time: 2:45 p.m. ET
Live stream: ESPN+
Ceasars Sportsbook Odds: TBD

Why watch: Switzerland's scalp of France at UEFA Euro 2020 was unexpected, and they have since lost boss Vladimir Petkovic to Girondins de Bordeaux. Murat Yakin is now in charge and the Swiss will be looking to build on two wins from two against the might of European champions Italy who are unbeaten in 34 matches coming into this break.

2. Brazil vs. Argentina

Date: Sunday, Sept. 5 | Time: 3 p.m. ET
Live stream: fuboTV (Try now)
Ceasars Sportsbook Odds: BRA -105 | Draw +225 | ARG +300

Why watch: Brazil against Argentina is always a must-watch under any circumstances and this rematch of the most recent Copa America final will be particularly interesting as it pits them against each other so soon afterwards. Both sides have navigated call-up issue with clubs to name strong squads, so expect fireworks once more.

1. USMNT's three World Cup qualifiers

El Salvador vs. USMNT
Date: Thursday, Sept. 2 | Time: 10 p.m. ET
Live stream: Paramount+
Caesar's Sportsbook Odds: El Salvador +450 | Draw +270 | USMNT -187

USMNT vs. Canada
Date:
Sunday, Sept. 5 | Time: 8 p.m. ET
TV: FS1 | Live stream: fuboTV (try for free)
Caesar's Sportsbook Odds: USMNT -175 | Draw +280 | CAN +480

Honduras vs. USMNT
Date: Wednesday, Sept 8 | Time: 10:30 p.m. ET
Live stream: Paramount+
Caesars Sportsbook Odds: TBD

Why watch: It could probably go without saying that the USMNT's World Cup qualifiers are the main attraction of this international window. Coming off a huge summer with two tournament victories in the Concacaf Nations League and the Gold Cup with victories over Mexico in both finals. The next step is to make sure they don't repeat what happened four years ago when the side failed to qualify for the World Cup and get off to the right kind of start over these three matches.
