| Fuentes not a candidate to close?: The A's shipped closer Andrew Bailey to the Red Sox on Wednesday, leaving an opening for their ninth-inning role. Assistant GM David Forst said Grant Balfour, Fautino De Los Santos and Joey Devine will compete for the team's opening at closer. | Fuentes converted 12 of 15 saves last season and posted a 3.70 ERA in 67 appearances. He seems like the most logical candidate to close but the A's have yet to mention him as a possibility. This situation will likely straighten itself out during spring training so owners should stay tuned. If he is in line to see saves in 2012, Fuentes would hold greater value in Fantasy.
