| Cueto knocked around by Rockies: Reds pitcher Johnny Cueto enured one of his worst outings of the season on Friday night against the Rockies. He allowed five runs on 11 hits over 4 2/3 innings in the 6-3 loss. The right-hander surrendered a two-run homer to Todd Helton in the second before getting tagged for another run in the fourth. Then in the fifth, he gave up two more runs before being pulled for J.J. Hoover. He was done after throwing 95 pitches, 59 for strikes. Cueto also struck out three and walked two while taking his second loss of the season. "I didn't feel good," said Cueto, who was out of whack with his delivery. "Every time I threw my breaking ball, I opened up and I wasn't landing right." (Updated 05/25/2012) |

| After going 4-0 with a 1.12 ERA over his first seven starts this season, Cueto has allowed seven earned runs in his last three outings. His ERA has risen to 2.53 over that span and he is beginning to show some kinks in the armor. However, the 26-year-old showed last season that he can be a solid option in Fantasy so keep Cueto active in the majority of formats heading into Week 9 (May 28-June 3). His next start is scheduled for Wednesday against the Pirates. When Cueto faced Pittsburgh on May 4, he allowed one run in the complete game win. (Updated 05/25/2012). |
