White Sox starting pitcher Jake Peavy (ribs) said Monday he hasn't been cleared for conditioning drills, but he hopes to ride a stationary bike soon, according to the Chicago Tribune. He could undergo an MRI within a week.

As expected, White Sox pitcher Jake Peavy has been placed on the disabled list. 

Peavy is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with a rib fracture. Deunte Heath and Ramon Troncoso were called up by the team. The White Sox also sent Brian Omogrosso to Triple-A. 

Peavy had a 4.30 ERA and a 3.75 FIP in 67 innings before his injury.

White Sox starter Jake Peavy will miss the next 4-6 weeks due to a non-displaced rib fracture on his left side, MLB.com reports Wednesday. Peavy exited Tuesday's game with the injury. Hector Santiago will take his place in the rotation.

Contrary to prior reports, White Sox starter Jake Peavy is merely questionable to make his start Sunday, not scratched, ESPN Chicago reports. The White Sox announced X-rays on Peavy's injured ribs came back negative. The team is waiting for MRI results before making a decision.

Peavy left his start Tuesday due to what appeared to be a left side injury. Peavy is undergoing an MRI Wednesday and more information will be available once the tests are finished.
