| Brand’s return, double-double, not enough : 76ers F Elton Brand returned to the floor Wednesday after missing two straight games with a thumb injury, and immediately went to work on the boards, grabbing 13 rebounds in just 27 minutes against the Spurs. He also added 11 points and three blocks, however his efforts were not enough to overcome the Spurs and their deep bench, who won 100-90. It was the fifth double-double of the season for Brand. | Brand is having the worst scoring season of his career, as he is down below 11 points per game on the season. To show how poor his scoring his been, three of his double-doubles including Wednesday have seen Brand grab at least as many rebounds on points scored. Still, he is averaging seven rebounds per game, so his overall numbers are still useful. While his overall numbers are down from his career highs, Fantasy owners can still look to him as a viable low-end Fantasy option in most formats. (Updated 02/08/2012). |
