Martin continues rollercoaster ride : Houston guard Kevin Martin continues to have a bumpy road for the Rockets. After laying an egg on Tuesday night, Martin bounced back to score 32 points against the Thunder on Wednesday, tying his season high. "We've got to do a better job of trying to get you going, but you've got to do a good job of getting yourself going, too," coach Kevin McHale said he told Martin. He shot 10 for 18 from the floor, going 4 for 7 from downtown, and nailing all eight of his freebies at the charity stripe."When it comes to NBA basketball, we're both pretty smart, (but) he might be a little smarter than me," Martin said. "So I was listening a little bit more and it was just a great conversation especially after the last week has gone. It was a conversation we needed to have." Martin added three assists, two steals and a board in his 38 minutes on the court. Houston would hold on for the 96-95 win over Oklahoma City. (Updated 02/15/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Martin has been on a rollercoaster over the past week for the Rockets as his production is all over the place. In his last five contests Martin has scored, 4, 2, 28, 0 and 32 points -- good for a 13.2 average. He's also averaging 2.0 assists and 2.0 boards per game over that span. Martin led the Rockets in scoring on Wednesday as they need him to bring his A-game every night. Fantasy owners should keep a close eye on Martin the rest of this week to see how does. If he can stay out of a rut he's a viable guard option; but if he continues to struggle hopefully you have a strong backup on the bench. (Updated 02/15/2012).
