| Gates ends year strong : Chargers tight end Antonio Gates hauled in his seventh touchdown reception of the season in Week 17 against the Raiders. Gates was on the receiving end of a 11-yard strike from Philip Rivers in the second quarter. He finished with two receptions for 15 yards in the 24-21 win. (Updated 12/31/12) |

| Fantasy Analysis |
| Gates did not have a great season for Fantasy owners as he got off to a very slow start this year. However, he was able to finish strong and has now hauled in at least seven TD receptions in each of his last nine seasons. While there are wholesale changes expected in San Diego next season, Gates still figures to be part of the team's plans as he is under contract until 2015. Consider the veteran a viable low-end No. 1 TE heading into 2013. (Updated 12/31/12). |
