With a slew of running backs injured or on bye in Week 8, the waiver-wire is going to be a feeding frenzy this week. In his weekly waiver-wire column, Jamey Eisenberg, tabs
Brown is set to see a larger role in the wake of injuries to
Stewart racked up 55 yards on 14 carries in his best performance of the season, and added 12 yards on his lone reception. He looked healthy and ran the ball fairly well, though not so well that we should expect him to be a star moving forward. Those days seem to be well in the past for Stewart, who has not averaged 4.0 yards per carry in a season since 2011.
Stewart is a starting running back, though, and should continue to see the bulk of the playing time, so Fantasy owners looking for help will want to put in a claim for him. However, he probably won't be much use in Week 8, with a tough matchup against the Seahawks on the way.
Stewart was held to only 11 yards on the ground before bouncing back with a respectable second half performance. He rushed for 13 yards on the final play of the third quarter and broke for runs of 18, 9 and 5 yards to start the fourth quarter. He finished the game with 55 yards on 14 carries, averaging 3.9 yards per attempt. He was thrown to twice and finished with one catch for 12 yards.
Stewart will look to get back on track Week 8 at home against the Seahawks.
After missing three games in a row with a knee injury,
The Packers have been decent against the run this season, though they have allowed opposing backs to rack up 20.3 Fantasy points per game. That number is much lower over the last two weeks, with the Vikings and Dolphins' backs racking up just 24 combined points, and that might be more in line with what we should expect from the Panthers' running game in Week 7.
The Panthers have been one of the league's worst rushing offenses this season, and it hasn't mattered much who is carrying the ball. They are averaging just 3.4 yards per carry on the season, and Stewart was at just 3.0 before his injury.
Even if Stewart gets a solid workload, he still has to prove he can be a productive and healthy back. It's possible he does so as soon as Week 7, but you are better off taking a wait-and-see approach.
