Legace can't snap Carolina's road woes: Manny Legace made 27 saves while the Hurricanes remained winless on the road this season (0-8-3) during a 2-0 loss to the Stars on Monday. Jamie Benn's goal off a rebound gave Dallas the lead at 9:30 of the first period, 24 seconds after Carolina's Tom Kostopoulos began serving a cross-checking penalty. Brad Richards' shot glanced off the stick of Carolina defenseman Joe Corvo, into the air and over Legace's shoulder at 2:07 of the third period to extend Dallas' edge to 2-0.

Fantasy Analysis

Legace is 2-2-2 in six outings since joining the Hurricanes after Cam Ward went down with a leg injury. He has pretty much met our expectations as a shaky option in net. Legace will continue to start for the Hurricanes the next few weeks, but we warn Fantasy owners to use him just as a stopgap option. The Hurricanes TG is a low-end option without Ward.
