BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) Tyler Nelson scored 28 points, Aidas Kavaliauskas turned in a double-double and Fairfield came up with its highest-scoring output of the season, surprising Niagara 104-85 on Saturday.

The Purple Eagles came in on a roll with a five-game winning streak, but the Stags (7-11, 2-5 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), losers of five straight, scored the first four points and never looked back, leading 58-40 after their highest-scoring half since Nov. 24, 2015.

Niagara scored the first nine points of second half and got within six with 12 1/2 minutes left but no closer with the Stags going up by double figures for good on consecutive 3-pointers by Kavaliauskas.

Kavaliauskas had 14 points and 11 assists for his second straight double-double in just his fifth career game. Jesus Cruz added 19 points, Ferron Flavors Jr. 18 and Matija Milin 15 for Fairfield, which shot 54 percent.

Kahlil Dukes scored 26 points for Niagara (12-9, 5-3).
