What to Know

The Holy Cross Crusaders haven't won a matchup against the American Eagles since Feb. 21 of 2018, but they'll be looking to end the drought Wednesday. Holy Cross and American will face off in a Patriot battle at 7 p.m. ET at Bender Arena. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W.'

It was close but no cigar for the Crusaders as they fell 68-65 to the Bucknell Bison this past Saturday. The loss was just more heartbreak for Holy Cross, who fell 65-62 when the teams previously met in March of 2020. Forward Gerrale Gates did his best for Holy Cross, finishing with 32 points (a whopping 49% of their total) and five dimes in addition to 13 boards.

Meanwhile, American ended up a good deal behind the Lafayette Leopards when they played on Monday, losing 69-56. Guard Stacy Beckton Jr. had a pretty forgettable game, finishing with only six points on 2-for-10 shooting in his 34 minutes on the court.

The Crusaders are expected to lose this next one by 4.5. Those betting on them against the spread shouldn't have high expectations for them since the team is 4-9 ATS when expected to lose.
