LAS VEGAS — It'll be one game instead of two. It won't include UCLA or Ohio State. But there will still be a CBS Sports Classic on Saturday here inside T-Mobile Arena.

It's North Carolina vs. Kentucky.

The pair of blue-blood programs that rank first (Kentucky) and third (North Carolina) in all-time wins among Division I schools have played some classics in recent years with two of the most memorable games coming in the 2016-17 season. First, in that season's CBS Sports Classic, Kentucky's Malik Monk made eight 3-pointers and scored 47 points in a 103-100 win over UNC. Then, a little more than three months later in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament, North Carolina's Luke Maye sank a jumper with 0.3 seconds remaining to lift the Tar Heels to a 75-73 victory over John Calipari's Wildcats.

Each game was awesome.

Hopefully this one offers similar drama.

One thing to keep an eye on is how effective (or not) North Carolina is at keeping Kentucky off of the offensive glass considering UK is the best offensive-rebounding team in the nation (thanks in part to the fact that Oscar Tshiebwe is the best offensive-rebounder in the nation). In previous seasons, among them last season, North Carolina dominated the offensive glass like no other. But first-year coach Hubert Davis' desire to prioritize shooting and spacing no longer has the Tar Heels playing two traditional bigs like they often did under Roy Williams. As a result, North Carolina is definitely a better shooting team with better spacing. But the Tar Heels are no longer an elite offensive-rebounding team. So they'll probably need to limit Kentucky's extra opportunities to extend their winning streak to six games.

North Carolina is No.16 in Saturday morning's updated CBS Sports Top 25 And 1 daily college basketball rankings. Kentucky was removed after last week's loss at Notre Dame — but the Wildcats could obviously return if they beat UNC. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. ET. You can watch the game on CBS. It will also stream LIVE for free on CBSSports.com and the CBS Sports App
