Duke vs. Miami odds: College basketball picks from expert who's 16-2
Zack Cimini has been on a roll in college basketball picks and just locked in a play for Miami-Duke
Two ACC teams with championship aspirations collide Monday when No. 18 Miami hosts No. 7 Duke at 7 p.m. ET. The Blue Devils are favored by four points, unchanged from the opening line. The over-under, or total number of points Vegas thinks will be scored, is 154.5, also unchanged from the open.
In this huge ACC showdown that features two loaded teams jockeying for tournament positioning, you need to see what SportsLine analyst Zack Cimini has to say.
Cimini is one of the fastest-rising Vegas-based handicappers and he has been crushing his recent college basketball picks.
He's on a blistering 16-2 run overall on his college basketball point-spread picks this season and he's coming off a 2016-17 campaign where he went 58-37 on those picks. Anybody following his picks is way, way up right now.
Now, Cimini has studied every angle of this ACC hoops showdown and has locked in his strong point-spread pick. He's sharing it only over at SportsLine.
Cimini knows that the Blue Devils are 15-2 overall and have won four of their past five, including blowout victories over ACC foes Wake Forest and Pittsburgh in their past two games.
Freshman sensation Marvin Bagley III has been the catalyst for Duke. The 6-foot-11 forward dropped 30 points and grabbed 11 rebounds against Wake Forest and he's averaging 22.5 points and 11.7 rebounds on the season. He'll possibly be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft and his size and athleticism will be a huge issue for Miami.
The Hurricanes struggle on the glass with just 36.6 boards per game, while Duke comes into this matchup ranked second nationally with 44.1.
But just because Duke comes in hot doesn't mean it will be able to go on the road and cover the four-point spread against a team ranked in the top 20 nationally.
Duke's high-powered offense will be countered by a stingy Miami defense that is in the top 10 in points allowed at just 60.7 per game. And while Duke has beat up on some lower-tier ACC teams, the Blue Devils are just 3-2 overall in conference play with road losses at Boston College and NC State.
Cimini has evaluated all of these circumstances and has identified an x-favor that he believes gives one team a strong edge in this matchup. He's sharing what that is, along with his pick, over at SportsLine.
