As the Saint Louis Billikens prepare to take the floor against New Mexico State on Thursday in the second round of the NCAA tournament, their hearts will be heavy with the memory of their former coach, Rick Majerus. He died at age 64 in early December after coaching at four schools and posting only one losing season.

“I hope he is remembered as one of the greatest fundamental teachers of basketball in the sport,” said Keith Van Horn, one of Majerus’ former players at Utah. “I think that he should be remembered for the fact that he gave so much to others and was just an altogether great personality.”
