Stanford's offense has taken a major step back this season. Christian McCaffrey is hurt, the offensive line is not playing well and wide receivers aren't getting open.

At least the Cardinal can rely on special teams, right?

Maybe not.

Conrad Ukropina's 45-yard field goal attempt in the first quarter against Notre Dame bounced off the upright -- and we don't just mean that in any old way. We mean it bounced off the top of the upright.

Seriously, here it is...

What are the odds of that happening? Ukropina couldn't do that if he wanted to, but somehow it happened anyway.

This may just not be Stanford's year.
