Who's Playing

Fresno State @ Wyoming

Current Records: Fresno State 4-2; Wyoming 4-1

What to Know

The Fresno State Bulldogs should come into this matchup well-rested after a week off from action. They will hit the road for the second straight week as they head to Jonah Field at War Memorial Stadium at 3:30 p.m. ET Saturday. They are expected to win again but are hoping to meet expectations this time.

The Bulldogs were close but no cigar two weeks ago as they fell 27-24 to the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors. Fresno State was up 24-10 at the end of the third quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead. A silver lining for them was the play of WR Zane Pope, who caught five passes for two TDs and 113 yards. Pope's performance made up for a slower matchup against the UNLV Rebels three weeks ago.

Meanwhile, it was all tied up 14-14 at halftime, but the Wyoming Cowboys were not quite the Air Force Falcons' equal in the second half when they met last week. Wyoming took a 24-14 hit to the loss column. Wyoming's defeat came about despite a quality game from RB Xazavian Valladay, who picked up 96 yards on the ground on eight carries. Valladay's longest run was for 74 yards in the second quarter.

Fresno State is now 4-2 while Wyoming sits at 4-1. Two defensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: Fresno State is 182nd worst in the nation in passing touchdowns allowed, with nine on the season. The Cowboys have experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the game with the 201st most rushing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up ten on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
