Daniels was handed a four-game suspension by the NFL on Monday, freelance NFL writer Howard Balzer reports.
The exact details surrounding Daniels' suspension are currently unknown, but the running back hasn't been on an NFL roster since he was waived with an injury settlement by the Buccaneers in mid-August.

Daniels (groin) will not play against Miami on Thursday, D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Daniels only played in eight games last season for both Houston and Seattle, and his sample size is small: two receptions on two targets for 18 yards and zero touchdowns. Thursday was supposed to be a time to show he can make it as a depth receiver and specialist, but that will have to wait for now.

Daniels has bounced around the league since being selected in the seventh round of the 2013 NFL Draft, spending time with the 49ers, Seahawks, Texans, Giants, and now Falcons. Originally a quarterback, Daniels has been transitioning to wide receiver/return specialist over the past few seasons. His diverse skill set could help him obtain a spot on Atlanta's 53-man roster next season.

Daniels signed on with the Giants in early May, hoping to secure a third-string spot behind Eli Manning and Ryan Nassib on the depth chart. With training camp approaching, the Giants decided to instead sign 24-year-old Logan Thomas, leaving Daniels as the odd man out.

Daniels, who was converted to a slot receiver and return man during his time with Seattle, is training at both wide receiver and quarterback with Houston but his main focus is at QB. If Brian Hoyer is not cleared from the NFL's concussion protocol this week, Daniels will be the top backup to Brandon Weeden in Week 16 against the Tennessee Titans.
