Mike Young: Waived by Wizards
Young was waived by the Wizards on Wednesday.
Young had yet to see the floor for the Wizards, spending the bulk of his time with the team's G-League affiliate. In 23 games at the G-League level, Young was averaging 12.4 points, 5.7 rebound and 2.0 assists across 27.4 minutes. That wasn't exactly impressive considering the level of competition, so the Wizards will cut bait and likely look for someone they feel has more upside as a prospect. Look for Young to remain in the G-League or potentially check on his options overseas.

Wizards' Mike Young: Assigned to G-League
Young was assigned to the G-League on Monday.
Young has yet to take part in a game with the Wizards this season, so he'll head back to the G-League in order to get some game reps. The rookie out Pitt is currently on a two-way contract and should spend the majority of the season with the Northern Arizona Suns. In four games at the G-League level, Young has averaged 16.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists across 31.3 minutes.

Wizards' Mike Young: To remain with Wizards for first two games
Young will remain with the Wizards for their first two games before beginning his G-League assignment, Candace Buckner of the Washington Post reports.
Young is on a two-way contract, but the Wizards will keep him around as insurance for Wednesday's game against the Sixers and Friday's matchup with Detroit. Following the latter contest, Young will report to the G-League, where he'll likely spend the bulk of the 2017-18 campaign.
